The Dhanbad Railway Board is preparing to start the operation of all the trains running on Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line. A proposal to run 14 other trains of this route in the new railway time table, issued from July 1, has been forwarded to the Railway Board.
Ranchi-Bhagalpur Vananchal Express has been announced. This train will operate from June 30. This will be the 10th train to run on Dhanbad-Chandrapura Rail line. Currently Dhanbad-Alpepy Express, Dhanbad-Ranchi Intercity, Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express, Howrah-Jabalpur Shaktipunj Express, Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express, Kolkata-Madar Express, Kolkata-Ahmedabad Express, Dhanbad-Jhargram Memu, Ranchi-Bhagalpur Express Trains are operating on this line. It is likely that in the new time table, the remaining 14 pairs of DC line trains will be operational for passengers. There will be no change in the time of these trains. All the trains will run on their predetermined times and dates.
Trains were closed due to the threat of underground fire. On June 15, 2017, the 34 km long DC line was closed after the danger of underground fire. Passenger train operations started again on 24 February this year after a lot of hardships. In the first phase, nine trains got clearance. Another train will run from June. The exercise of bringing the remaining 14 pairs of trains back on track has accelerated. In the proposal sent from Dhanbad, permission has been asked to run five closed trains including three passenger and two express trains.
Dhanbad-Chandrapura Passenger is closed from June 15, 2017. Dhanbad-Chandrapura Passenger had final round on June 14, 2017, the train has been closed since then. Dhanbad Railway Board has not only proposed to run this train again in the new time table, but also proposed route expansion to Bokaro Steel City.
