JMM candidate Jagarnath Mahto, today filed his nomination for Giridih Lok Sabha Seat. Jagarnath Mahto, along with his supporters, reached the office of Bokaro DC cum District Election Officer and submitted the form. He also claimed his victory from the seat. Chandra Prakash Choudhary is also in the fray from Giridih on AJSU ticket. This time BJP has not given ticket to Ravindra Pandey and this seat has gone to the NDA’s AJSU Party.
MLA Jagarnath Mahto went for his nomination with a convoy of hundreds of vehicles. According to the rules, all the vehicles were stopped 100 meters away from the DC office and Jagarnath Mahto reached the gate with the supporters on foot and went in the campus with the three people. Outside, supporters continued to raise slogans in his support. It is worth mentioning that the Giridih seat in the JMM account from the Mahagathbandhan. And the party has fielded Jagarnath Mahto in these elections. The main battle in this seat appears to be between Chandra Prakash Chaudhary of AJSU and Jagarnath Mahato.
Coming out after filing his nominations, Jagarnath Mahto said that this time nobody can stop his victory. He said that the atmosphere is completely clear. No other contestants are in the fray.
In Jharkhand, BJP and AJSU are contesting together. And Giridih is the only seat in this coalition, which is in the account of AJSU. This election is also a battle of survival for the AJSU supremo. In the 2014 General Election, BJP’s Ravindra Pandey had won this seat while JMM’s Jagarnath Mahato was in second place. Giridih seat comes in those seats, where BJP have been winning from a long time.
There are total 1,511,644 voters in the Giridih Lok Sabha constituency. There are 811,587 male voters and 700,052 female voters. The nomination process for this Lok Sabha seat in six Assembly constituencies will be held till April 23. Voting will be held on May 12 with results coming out on May 23.
